Loop Energy™ customer Tevva Motors has successfully launched the first of its 7.5t hydrogen-electric trucks at the Road Transport Expo in Warwickshire, UK, on Thursday, June 30. Loop Energy’s team members attended the launch to congratulate Tevva and answer questions about the fuel cell system.
The electric and hydrogen truck pioneer is the first company to launch a commercially available hydrogen-electric truck platform in the UK. Employing range extender technology, the truck utilizes Loop Energy’s T505 Series (50 kW) fuel cell system in tandem with a battery. The truck’s launch follows Loop Energy’s eFlow™ technology winning the competitive tender process in 2021, which resulted in Tevva placing initial orders.

- Tevva’s hydrogen-electric truck will have a range of up to 310 miles / 500 kilometres, and its hydrogen tanks can be refilled in 10 minutes.
- It is the first vehicle of its kind to be manufactured, designed and mass-produced in the UK.
